This vibrant pink Boucherouite made in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco represents the power of being a woman NOW! Now is the time to use our full voice, and to strip off all of the chains that have restricted us from realizing our true power!
This beautiful rug is a very soft flat weave with some shagginess. This pink vibrant beauty has variations of pinks and purples with teal, baby blue, black, purple, and light yellow. Extra long white fringe on one end of the rug!
THE BOUCHEROUITE rug is made out of recycled scraps of nylon, cotton, and wool.
In small villages in the southern regions of Morocco, the women paint their hands and feet with abstract saffron-colored motifs, wear ornate dramatic jewelry, and weave carpets that are expressive of profound emotion - at once unconscious and spiritual, archetypal and primal, tribal and symbolic. In the often economically and culturally isolated, provincial homes where the boucherouite is made, the domestic culture is curiously supportive of the weaver's total freedom of expression through her craft.
